STONE SETS

Basalt stones are the most recommended type of stone to use in hot stone therapy.  Their non-porous, smooth texture, combined with their high heat retaining qualities, make them the ideal choice for therapists.

Basalt stone is formed as lava cools following volcanic eruption. Over time, the process of erosion carries the stones out to sea where they are made smooth by the constant movement of water.

The Stone Massage Company's stones originate from the Andes Mountains in South America. They are harvested along the Pacific shores and then sorted, washed and graded.  The Stone Massage Company would like to stress that there is no destruction to the natural environment in which the stones are found. They carefully assemble each massage stone set themselves.  They hand pick each stone for its quality, weight, shape, smoothness and purpose.

The Stone Massage Company's stones are naturally formed and are not altered in size or shape, nor are they mechanically tumbled after they are harvested.  They believe this is very important because the stones have an inherent energy field within that helps to balance the body's energy centers when used during stone massage.

EXCHANGE POLICY OF BASALT STONES

All of the stones from The Stone Massage Company are naturally formed with all of the variations that nature provides, including minor differences in shape or colour. Some of the stones have natural folds or varying textures that cannot be detected during a treatment.  The Stone Massage Company hand pick each stone to ensure that you do not receive any with large cracks or sharp edges.  However, in the event that you do receive such a stone, they will replace it free of charge.  Any request for returns due to naturally occurring variations in the stones will not be accepted.
